The CSL Centenary Fellowships for early-mid career medical researchers are high-value awards available to Australians who wish to continue a career in medical research in Australia. Two individual five-year $1.25 million fellowships are awarded each calendar year.

As well as paying tribute to CSL’s origins, the fellowships are an integral part of how CSL delivers on our promise to help foster a thriving medical research community by supporting the development of Australian science.

Established in 1998 and bearing the likeness of one of Australia's greatest scientists, Nobel Prize-winning Sir Howard Florey who developed penicillin, the Florey Medal is one of Australia's most esteemed awards in the health sciences.

CSL Seqirus has partnered with The European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI), a collection of influenza scientists and stakeholder organisations with the intention to help reduce the burden of influenza by supporting the research of emerging scientists in the field of vaccines. Jointly, we are seeking forward thinking and curiosity-driven PhD students who embody the notion of collaboration in their scientific research.

The ESWI Early Career Scientist (ECaS) Award presents a fantastic opportunity to provide financial and networking opportunities to further their careers and was recently presented to Dr. Jenna Guthmiller, An Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz, for her innovative work around vaccination and immunity.

Independent Medical Education Grants are the cornerstone of supporting our patients by providing funds for the continuing medical education of healthcare professionals. Grants are issued in support of programs that include, but are not limited to, medical seminars and symposia, grand rounds, sessions at physician specialty meetings and conventions, and programs for which continuing medical education credits are approved. Currently available in the US and Canada. Investigator-initiated studies (IIS) advance medical and scientific knowledge of CSL products and the diseases they are designed to treat. CSL also supports innovative clinical and basic science studies that address important medical and scientific questions related to our therapeutic areas of focus. Currently available in the US and Canada.

To promote medical and scientific research, we share data from CSL Vifor sponsored clinical studies on products with approved indications in both the EU and the USA. When doing this, we will safeguard trial subjects’ privacy by anonymization of the datasets provided. In addition, subjects’ informed consent provided in relation to their participation in the clinical trial will be respected at all times. As a mandatory pre-requisite, a research proposal must be submitted to document the legitimacy of the research question, and the qualifications of the requester.

Publication Grants are limited grants provided to investigators to support publishing retrospective data that advances scientific and medical knowledge across CSL's areas of focus in the form of manuscripts, abstracts, and related posters or oral presentations. Currently available in the US and Canada.

Material Transfers provide limited quantities of approved products for pre-clinical, laboratory, and benchtop research. This includes in vivo animal, ex vivo, and in vitro studies by licensed healthcare professionals, researchers at licensed laboratories, and government agencies. Currently available in the US.
